Tank slapper is a rather unpleasant, and sometimes costly, phenomenon. It can be caused by a riding error, but also by incorrect motorcycle setup or a damaged road surface. And when the bike starts tank slapping, there is sometimes little to do before a crash.
To reduce the risk of tank slapper, AVDB MOTO offers this steering damper, a hydraulic cylinder that absorbs and slows the back-and-forth movement of the front fork, allowing you to maintain a smooth, stable, and accurate line, even at full speed.
Sometimes steering dampers, when the motorcycle is equipped with one from the factory, have a progressive adjustment, meaning the damper stiffness changes automatically depending on speed. The model we offer allows constant adjustment, according to your feel and riding style.
Fits in the standard position, between the fuel tank and the upper triple clamp (sometimes different from the original one, again only if your model is equipped with one from the factory). The mounting brackets are specific to the models listed. No modifications are required during installation.
